Barbell 101 focuses on performance and results in Olympic weightlifting and strength coaching. We offer programs for Olympic weightlifting, and individuals looking to include Olympic weightlifting as part of an overall strength and conditioning plan. We also offer services to enhance recovery and complement training.
Our Olympic Weightlifting program is the heart of our team, and provides coaching to beginner, intermediate, and advanced athletes. Our athletes have competed at local, Provincial and National events in Canada, and in the US. Team training occurs several times weekly and focuses on the classical lifts – the snatch, and clean and jerk. We also conduct a monthly one-day weightlifting clinic, and our Weightlifting 101 class runs every Saturday morning. You can read more about these programs here.
Our strength and conditioning program is geared towards individuals looking to enhance sport performance. We incorporate Olympic weightlifting, barbell training, strongman lifts, conditioning, and accessory work to bring your performance to the next level. Some of our athletes have competed in judo, Brazilian Jiujitsu, Cycling, track and field, and basketball, nationally and internationally. Recovery and nutrition are just as important as training. At Barbell 101, we offer Fascial Stretch Therapy, soft tissue release, and rehabilitation sessions using neuromuscular electrical stimulation.
